This weekend Mom, Dad, and I tuned in to the SNL 40th Anniversary Special. It had everybody from Mike Myers to Eddie Murphy to Adam Sandler to Paul Mccartney. It was super funny and was a great celebration of 40 years on television. Now let me list all of the best (and worst) moments of the episode:
The Goods:
1. Wayne's World! Party Time! Excellent! That's right the Wayne's World sketch was by far my favorite part of the whole episode. I had recently seen the Wayne's World movie and thought it was hilarious, so watching it on SNL was even funnier. Mike Myers and Dana Carvey did a great job.
2. The intro by Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon was awesome. It had pretty much every SNL quote you could think of and if you don't like it, you'll be living IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER! Just kidding!
3. The compilation of short films from SNL over the years was really good, too. From the cartoons of TV Funhouse to those silly fake commercials they do, it had everything!
4. The Jeopardy sketch was funny as well, especially because of the girl pretending to be Justin Bieber, I think she did a pretty good job portraying him.
The Bads:
1. The California sketch wasn't all that great in my opinion. It took way too long to get to the end and I didn't think it was all that funny personally. But I'm sure many people from California found it hilarious.
2. The commercial for "Mom Jeans" wasn't all that great either. Not because it wasn't well made or anything like that, I just didn't find it funny.
I am so glad that the show has been on TV for that long and here's to another 40 years of SNL!
