I remember when this show first came out. I was 12-years-old and I saw the commercial and thought "Ugh, another cartoon with a live-action background?". I already was sick of that trope with Fish Hooks and Out of Jimmy's Head and didn't want to see another show like that. The animation in Gumball is essentially Roger Rabbit but with different styles including stop-motion, claymation, CGI, and puppets. I think it's kinda ridiculous to combine ALL those animation styles into one picture and if you ask me it's looks choppy. I liked it when MAD did it because at least their animation styles were in DIFFERENT sketches not combined at all together. Now, I watched a few episodes of Gumball just to know what the heck I'm talking about and to be honest, I wasn't that impressed. The first episode was where Gumball was possessed by some ghost named Carrie who made him go around eating everything until he got himself sick. I kinda liked a few parts but it didn't do much for me. The other episodes I saw I can hardly remember anything from them except the fact that there was a Muppet-style character named Rocky in one of them. As long as they pay homage to The Muppets, I guess it's an okay show. But it's still meh compared to the rest of the things on Cartoon Network.
