The Story of my Videos
For all of you who are wondering what I do as a hobby, I enjoy making YouTube videos. I have always liked being on camera ever since I was little. I was putting on shows for the family as early as 3rd Grade. During my shows, I would act like different characters that were mostly based off of the ventriloquist Jeff Dunham's puppets. In 4th Grade, I took Drama Class and was the Dog in the Little Red Hen (I guess that makes me a Dog with a Blog, LOL!). We borrowed my friend, Dalton's dog costume and the character came to life. For those of you unaware the story of the Little Red Hen is about a hen who wants other animals to help her make bread but the other animals are too lazy to do so. The play using the phrase "Not I" a lot which I thought was a little boring. So, I added my own touch to it and made the dog say funny things like "Not I, I'm going to be a dog in a play". Talk about breaking the fourth wall! That got me some really good acting experience. The next year I took that same class and was the Big Bad Wolf from Little Red Riding Hood. People thought my interpretation of the character was so funny that the principal e-mailed Mom and told her how good I did as the wolf. Then when I was in 6th Grade, I was experimenting with a program called Windows Movie Maker and footage I had downloaded. The footage was of an old kid show called Zoboomafoo. I took the footage and added really weird special effects to it. I sped things up, slowed things down, repeating scenes, reversed scenes, and did all kind of cool stuff. I made a bunch more videos like this of different shows and movies I like and then that Summer something bad happened. My computer got a REALLY bad virus and stopped working. We took it to Mom's boss, Kevin and he said it was unfixable. So, Mom and Dad said if I could be good for a while they would get me a laptop. Once I got it, I found out that it came with a Webcam that allowed me to film myself. The Webcam had no sound but came in good quality. Since it had no sound I would film doing cool special effects I would come up with. Some of the effects looked REALLY good and others not so much. I made a bunch of effects videos until my cousin, Zach fixed my Webcam that Christmas which allowed it to have sound. I made tons more effects videos with sound. That next Summer, I asked Mom if I could upload them to YouTube and she said that's fine as long as I don't upload anything inappopriate. I was going to call my channel visualFXguy but that was taken so I changed the name to 1visualFXguy because I'm one guy that enjoys doing visual effects. A lot of people liked my channel and it got quite a few subscribers. Then, that Febuary there was going to be a contest at the library to see who could make the best video promoting the library. So, I made one called "Swiss News Live At The Library" featuring a cast of new characters like the News Guy, Darth Vader, Elvis, The World's Oldest Baby, and Jim the Muppet who now (except for the News guy) are background characters. My video won because they said it had good editing, funny characters, and promoted the library in many ways. A few months later I came up with a group of new characters including Zed Buckmaster, a grumpy hunter with a beard, Richie Cinnamon, a flamboyant excercize trainer, and a surfer dude named Brody. I got Dalton and Zach involved with my videos, too and they really enjoy being in them. That Fall, I changed my channel name from 1visualFXguy to One-Eyed Willy Johnson Productions. It was a good name until I realized that some people might find the name offensive. So, I made a new channel called 2MattTV and I post new videos to it every month! Then two years ago, I was experimenting with MS Paint and Sony Vegas. I took a bunch of pop culture images, set it to country music, and called it an Animutation. I wasn't the first to do this, plenty of other people had, but most people use Japanese music and I was the first one to use country. I then uploaded it to YouTube and two weeks later, fellow YouTuber Tommy Wimmer gave me a page on Animutation Wiki. I haven't stopped making Animutations since. Last Winter, I made a funny parody series of the Alpha and Omega movies called ALF and Omega (named after the alien ALF). So if you want to have a good laugh, check out 1visualFXguy and 2MattTV!
